Muriel rues loss to Roma

Luis Muriel thinks his Udinese side didn’t deserve to be beaten by Roma in Serie A this weekend.

The Giallorossi made it nine wins from nine this season at the Stadio Friuli despite the dismissal of Douglas Maicon.

“That was our best performance of the campaign,” the striker told Udinese Channel. “We have played very well, especially in the first half.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to score – it’s a shame I hit the post.

“It’s also disappointing that we didn’t make the most of having an extra man. We went for the win, but we were not very lucky.”

Udinese will play Sassuolo in midweek and the striker is respectful of a side who have netted just six points this term.

“It is going to be harder than the Roma game…” he claimed. “It won’t be easy at all, so we need to be focused and we need to play well.”
