Scudetto a marathon, warns Pecchia

Roma have yet to drop a point so far this season, but Napoli assistant boss Fabio Pecchia insists the Scudetto is still up for grabs.

“Roma are keeping up a rhythm that is impossible to match,” the former Azzurri midfielder told Radio Onda Libera.

“However, we’ll have to wait and see their strength further down the line. Napoli and Juventus are on an excellent road right now.”

The Naples outfit and the Italian champions are presently in joint-second, five points adrift of Rudi Garcia’s revelations.

“It is no coincidence that Rafael Benitez has won a lot,” Pecchia stated when asked about the Napoli boss he now backs.

“I see him working on a daily basis. He is a Coach with great capabilities. I would say that President Aurelio De Laurentiis really has won the lottery with him.”

Pecchia was re-signed by the Azzurri in June after coaching spells at Foggia [assistant], Gubbio and Latina.
