Napoli boss Rafa Benitez expects his side to be tested by Fiorentina when the two teams meet in Tuscany on Wednesday.
“They are a difficult side to take on,” the Spaniard noted this morning. “We will have to keep an eye on Juan Cuadrado, but we will not be man-marking him.
“It is a game that is worth three points like all the others, but it is a significant game as it is between two sides who are high in the standings.
“They are good in possession and they can score goals in numerous ways. We too keep hold of the ball so we’ll have to wait and see who controls the game.
“But the defensive side of the match will be important too.”
Fiorentina are joint fourth in the standings, four points behind Napoli and Juventus – a side they beat 4-2 recently. But Roma are top after nine wins from nine.
“We’ve had a positive start to the season. We have won seven, drawn one and lost one. We’ll see where we end up.
“Roma? I said that there were four or five sides who could win the Scudetto at the start of the season.
“Roma were one of those and they will win the championship if they continue like this. But the pressure will mount on them.”
Gonzalo Higuain was the hero in the 2-0 win over Torino at the weekend, but it is unclear whether the Argentine will start at the Franchi.
“Higuain is returning from injury and he did well against Torino, but he’s still recovering. I have to look at the players on a game by game basis.”
Benitez was also asked to comment on his inclusion on the 10-man shortlist for the FIFA 2013 World Coach of the Year award.
“It doesn’t necessarily mean that we are the best. Nevertheless, Jupp Heynckes should get the award. He won a lot last season with Bayern Munich and is an example as a professional.”
