The Giallorossi have already matched the streak set by Juventus in 2005-06, but a 100 per cent record in Week 10 would be unprecedented in Serie A.

They host bottom of the table Chievo at the Stadio Olimpico at 19.45 GMT on Thursday.

“This will be the most difficult game since the start of the season, as it is tough to play against Chievo,” said Garcia in his Press conference.

“We will only win if we remain humble. The players have always responded positively to my suggestions and I above all trust the veterans. They know a Serie A game is never won in advance.

“They also don’t need me to tell them this story is too wonderful for us to lose concentration now. We can’t wait to play the next game and are still hungry for these experiences.”

The Coach was pressed on whether the 1-0 victory away to Udinese on Sunday showed Roma have the rub of the green, especially as they were down to 10 men.

“When we lose Francesco Totti, Gervinho and Douglas Maicon, we are not lucky,” argued Garcia.

“Besides, fortune favours the brave. Look at the goalline clearance by Leandro Castan – that was not luck. It was hunger, determination and grit. The same goes for Daniele De Rossi’s clearance against Napoli. If you want to call that luck, then I guess we’re lucky.

“We are in Week 10, so the sprint finish is still a long way off. Our objective is to fight to the end with the favourites, Juventus and Napoli.”

Gervinho could return against Chievo, but Totti is still sidelined and Maicon suspended.

“It’s a shame for Totti’s absence, but the most important thing is the identity of the team.”
