Napoli legend Diego Armando Maradona has not been forgotten by his former club on the day of his 53rd birthday.
“October 30 is always a special day,” the club wrote on their official Twitter account.
President Aurelio De Laurentiis used the same social media network to send his best wishes to the Argentine.
“Many happy returns Diego,” he stated. “These are 53 years of important history. Others just as exciting will arrive.”
Maradona remains a hero in Naples after he helped guide the club to their only two Scudetti – in 1987 and 1990.
The 1986 World Cup winner still has affection for the Azzurri and admits he’d like to return to the Stadio San Paolo one day.
“When Rafa Benitez goes, I’d love to be the Coach of Napoli,” he said earlier this month.
“No President wants Maradona as Coach, though, as they are afraid of me because I won’t let anyone tread on me or accept orders.”
