Kaka is hoping to use his summer return to Milan as a springboard for World Cup 2014 selection.

The Brazilian was netted on a free transfer from Real Madrid in late August and shined in the 1-1 draw with Lazio last night.

“I’m disappointed with the result,” he told Mediaset. “My goal could have been so much more important.

“I hope to score other goals which are worth three points.

“My form? I must still improve under certain aspects, but I’m happy with my evolution from my ‘debut’ at Torino to here.

“I thank Milan for this second opportunity and I want to do well in order to have a great World Cup in Brazil.”

Although the attacking midfielder impressed at San Siro, Milan were jeered after a result which leaves them in tenth place – already 13 points adrift of the Champions League zone.

“It is hard to imagine a Champions League without Milan in it, I certainly hope we qualify,” he added.

“The good thing is that there are still a lot of games to play and plenty to work on.”
