Palacio: 'I'd like to end at Inter'

Rodrigo Palacio confirms he will “soon discuss whether to extend the contract. I’d like to end my career at Inter.”

The striker spoke to Sky Sport Italia about his eighth goal of the season, the best start of a campaign in his career.

“It is thanks to the entire team, my teammates who give me the ball and also the Coach’s tactical system,” explained La Trenza.

“Walter Mazzarri always tells me to bring depth to the squad, that the only striker has to move around a lot to help teammates find him near to the goal. Of course, if Diego Milito had been fit then I think we’d have more points right now.”

The Nerazzurri are in joint fourth place with Verona thanks to 19 points from 10 rounds, but were held to a 1-1 draw by Atalanta on Tuesday.

“We do need to improve when it comes to keeping leads and we were talking about that with the Coach today. This is a young side, but we are on the right track and must continue.

“There is still a year and a half left on my current deal, but we’ll soon discuss whether to extend the contract. I’d like to end my career at Inter, as I am happy here.”
