The Argentine, a midfielder who has been converted into a centre-back, has again recently been paired with a possible move to the Stadio San Paolo.
“I always talk with him,” the former Liverpool man told El Grafico in an interview this week. “Before signing for Barcelona I came close to joining Benitez at Inter.
“Would I now join him at Napoli? I’m fine here and he knows that…”
The 29-year-old is now working under the orders of Tata Martino, a fellow Argentine.
“Martino is a serious Coach, who likes to work and who does not look for difficulties,” added the international.
“At first I was shocked that Barcelona hired him, not for his ability, but because it is not common for a South American Coach to come in at a big European team.”
