Mascherano fears Milan’s tradition

Barcelona’s Javier Mascherano is refusing to underestimate Milan ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie.

The Rossoneri have had a problematic start to the season, given that they have collected just 12 points from their 11 Serie A games this term.

Mascherano, however, has told Extra Time that the San Siro side remain a team who can cause you trouble.

“They are a club of status, tradition and class,” the Argentine international commented.

“They have not had a good start to the season, but in their games the fact is that they have demonstrated something.

“Not only against us but also against Juventus. They may have lost 3-2 against the latter, but they played an interesting game.”

While Milan have struggled, Kaka has started to shine following his summer return from Barca’s great rivals Real Madrid.

“I am not surprised by his improvement because I believe that football is 80 per cent psychological and 20 per cent physical,” added the ex-Liverpool man.

“And considering that Kaka has experienced with Milan his prime as a player, it is not possible to feel better anywhere else.

“I do not know if he will return to the best Kaka, but surely we will see a great Kaka, like the one we faced at San Siro two weeks ago.”
