Kwadwo Asamoah admits “it was tough” to become a defender against Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
“We did well tonight against a great team. It wasn’t easy, but we did the right things,” he told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-2 draw between Juventus and Real Madrid.
Angelo Ogbonna had been expected to start, but Antonio Conte chose Asamoah instead for that role.
“It was tough against players like Ronaldo and Bale, with such pace and technique, but I did what I had to.
“I saw that when Carlos Tevez cut in, there was space for me to push forward, so we could create some chances.”
