Napoli assistant manager Fabio Pecchia insists dropping Marek Hamsik against Marseille was not to rest him for Juventus.
Both Hamsik and Valon Behrami are on the bench this evening in the Champions League, just days before a Scudetto showdown with the Bianconeri.
“This was not to prepare for Juventus, but chosen as the best line-up for this match, as this is the only objective right now,” assured Pecchia on Sky Sport Italia.
It kicks off at 19.45 GMT, click here for the line-ups.
“Defending should not be down to just one or two players, but the entire team, so it won’t be an issue.
“Gonzalo Higuain and Goran Pandev worked well together against Fiorentina and we are just trying to make the most of all the weapons at our disposal.”
