Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan is back in the Belgium squad for this month’s two international friendlies.
The 25-year-old, who hadn’t been selected for almost a year, has been called up for the ties against Colombia and Japan on November 14 and 19 respectively.
Less than four weeks ago, the former Piacenza man expressed his concern that playing for a club of the stature of Cagliari could be penalising him.
“I am a little disappointed not to be involved in the national team,” the man who has won five caps to date stated.
“I hope the Coach will follow my performances and perhaps give me a chance in the next friendlies.
“I am not giving up hope. I will fight to get into the team 100 per cent. The national team is full of champions, but I think I deserve my place – maybe not as a starter but in the 23.
“If I’d have signed for Inter, people would have started talking about me for Belgium – but I’m exactly that same player at Cagliari.”
