Saphir Taider says joining a club like Inter was the reason why he opted to move to Italy in the summer of 2011.
Following the financial problems of French outfit Grenoble, the then teenager accepted an offer from Bologna.
“I was 19 when I came to Italy and, at such a young age, I hoped to make it to a big club as quickly as I could,” he told Inter Channel. “That was my goal.”
The Algerian international moved to San Siro in the summer after a co-ownership agreement was reached with the Stadio Dall’Ara outfit.
“To be at Inter is a dream come true,” he added. “This is a great team. Since I was a kid I've wanted to be part of a top club – and now I’d like to win a lot of trophies to make the most of this experience.
“The most emotional moment for me so far was my debut as a starter at home against Juventus.
“Playing in a full stadium like that in such a match was something really stunning. People just can’t imagine what it’s like to be on the pitch, the energy, the support of the fans…”
Taider has one goal in 10 League games for the Beneamata this term.
