Italy boss Cesare Prandelli wants Roma’s Morgan De Sanctis to come out of international retirement for the World Cup.
The 36-year-old, then at Napoli, quit the Giro Azzurro in March after winning just six caps for his nation.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Prandelli would like the custodian back given his heroics in the capital this season.
The former Juventus, Pescara and Udinese net-minder has conceded just three goals in 12 Serie A games this term.
The newspaper says Prandelli will take Juventus’ Gigi Buffon and De Sanctis to Brazil 2014, with Lazio’s Federico Marchetti and Salvatore Sirigu of Paris Saint-Germain in competition for the final pair of gloves.
