Walter Mazzarri said he is “on the same page” as new Inter President Erick Thohir after they finally met.
Indonesian investor Thohir has officially been named as the new President as well as majority shareholder, taking over from Massimo Moratti.
He flew in to Milan this week and finally met with tactician Mazzarri and the team.
“This takeover had been talked about for a while and today the moment finally came,” the Coach told Rai Sport.
“It was a pleasant meeting, I can see we’re on the same page and in my view things are going in the best way.
“It was a meeting to get to know each other more than anything else. We didn’t get into details, but it was a pleasant time.
“This is a new situation and there is curiosity, but I had the sensation they have clear ideas. You can tell they are accustomed to important positions in business.”
Moratti had been offered the role of remaining on as President, but opted to instead take only the title of Honorary President after selling 70 per cent of his shares.
“Moratti has always been close to the team and we didn’t even notice there was this sea change going on behind the scenes. The great rapport I’ve had with the President since I arrived at Inter has remained intact.”
