Sampdoria have announced that they have appointed Sinisa Mihajlovic as their new Coach and that he will begin work on Thursday.

The 44-year-old was increasingly linked with the role this week and confirmed yesterday evening that he was leaving his post with the Serbian national team to return to Marassi, where he spent four years as a player.

On from this, Samp have now confirmed through their official website his appointment as Coach and that he will be joined by backroom staff Nenad Sakic, Emilio De Leo and Antonio Bovenzi.

The club report that Mihajlovic will be presented to the media on Thursday afternoon before directing his first training session with the squad.

However, specifics to the agreement between club and Coach, including contract length, were not included in the statement released.

Mihajlovic, who comes in as Delio Rossi’s replacement, is set for a fourth run coaching in Serie A after spells with Bologna, Catania and Fiorentina.
