Cristian Zaccardo admits that it will take a miracle for his struggling Milan side to finish in the top three this season.

After 12 games the Diavolo are tenth in the standings, 15 points behind third placed Napoli and 19 adrift of leaders Roma.

“The results haven’t been good, but we have to remain optimistic,” the 2006 World Cup winner told Radio Mana Mana Sport.

“The results haven’t been good, but we have to remain optimistic,” the 2006 World Cup winner told Radio Mana Mana Sport.

“We started last season poorly as well, but we’re hoping the game against Genoa will be the start of our comeback.

“Roma, Juventus and Napoli are travelling at a very strong pace and it will need a miracle for us to finish in the first three spots.”

Zaccardo is currently sidelined with an ankle problem, but he expects to be at the disposal of boss Massimiliano Allegri again within two weeks.
