Adriano Galliani insists Kaka is “back where he belongs” as trequartista for Milan after tactical experiments.

Question marks were raised last week when the Brazilian was used as a deep-lying playmaker in front of the defence for a friendly against Young Boys.

“Nobody at the club, including the Coach, thought Kaka could play there,” the general manager told Sky Sport Italia ahead of tonight's Milan-Genoa.

“He’s evidently not a wide striker either, but after some experiments in a friendly and a forced change due to injuries, he returns to the trequartista role where he belongs.

“There was pressure last year too. Massimiliano Allegri is at his fourth year at Milan, so he’s accustomed to the pressure by now. As always, situations are evaluated in May.”

Galliani was asked whether it was “impossible” for him to continue working at Milan next year after criticism from Barbara Berlusconi, the daughter of President Silvio Berlusconi and member of the Board of Directors.

“Please don’t ask such questions. I will not reply.”

Galliani was more vocal on whether this Rossoneri side was in need of a radical revamp if they fail to finish in the top three.

“If I look at the average age of the players, then we are at the start of an era, not at the end. Over the last three years we finished in front of Inter, while Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”21″>Fiorentina haven’t been in the Champions League for years, but people only remember the most recent result.

“I’d measure teams over a five-year period and Milan are the only team to have been in the Champions League for the last 11 years running. A bad season can happen – we hope it won’t to us – but it happened with Juventus” data-scaytid=”22″>Juventus, Inter, Napoli and all the others. This is football.”
