Manolo Gabbiadini has been instantly won over by new Sampdoria boss Sinisa Mihajlovic.
The latter replaced the axed Delio Rossi last week with the Marassi outfit struggling near the bottom of the table.
“I’m very happy with him,” the striker, co-owned with Juventus, told Il Secolo XIX. “He’s a very direct guy and I really like people like that.
“He’s a really prepared tactician and he quit playing not that long ago. He knows how to put himself into our shoes and that says a lot.”
Sampdoria looked like they were heading for a 1-0 win over Lazio at the weekend, until they conceded in injury time.
“We were blown away by that goal 10 seconds from the end,” added the Italian international. “In my opinion, however, I think we offered an excellent performance.
“That display is significant as it allowed us to leave a complicated situation behind us.”
Samp, third from bottom, travel to Inter next.
