Nigel De Jong has called for his Milan team to kick on after their win over Celtic in the Champions League last night.

The Rossoneri won for the first time in seven attempts on Tuesday as they overcame the Scottish champions 3-0 at Parkhead.

“I was somewhat disappointed by Celtic,” he told uefa. “But we did well to exploit the opportunities they afforded us.

“For Milan, the Champions League is as important as the Scudetto. We’re not having a good time at the moment, but we have shown how dangerous we can be.

“I thought we were perfect from the start. In the second half, maybe we were a bit lucky when Van Dijk missed a good opportunity.

“I think the next match against Ajax will be a decisive one – we have to prepare in the best way possible.”
