Montella wants Pacos result

Fiorentina have already qualified from the Europa League, but Vincenzo Montella wants more against Pacos Ferreira.

The Viola have a 100 per cent record in Group E, scoring 10 goals and conceding only two, while Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira have just one point.

“Our position allows us to rest some players, but I am absolutely confident the team will play its usual level of football,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“I am satisfied with what I have seen so far. Our objective in the Europa League is to go as far as possible, ideally to the Final. Topping the group would be important for the draw in the next phase.

“It is important to analyse Sunday’s defeat to Udinese and understand where we went wrong. We had the wrong approach on how to get back into the game and worked hard, but in an inefficient fashion.”

Mario Gomez had hoped to make his comeback, but a check-up in Munich confirmed an inflammation of the knee that underwent surgery.

“We know that in some injuries there can be complications,” added Montella.

“I won’t cry about it. We know there are players who can benefit from Gomez’s absence and be given space to grow.”

Fiorentina squad for Pacos Ferreira: Alonso, Ambrosini, Aquilani, Bakic, Capezzi, Compper, Cuadrado, Empereur, Fazzi, Fernandez, Iakovenko, Ilicic, Lezzerini, Madrigali, Munua, Neto, Pizarro, Roncaglia, Ryder, Savic, Tomovic
