According to La Nazione, Fiorentina have already reached a basic agreement with Heitinga to arrive during the January transfer window.
Everton would be willing to release him for a minimal fee, as he has only made two League Cup appearances this season.
Heitinga joined Everton from Atletico Madrid in September 2009, having previously come through the Ajax academy.
