Vincenzo Montella warns Fiorentina they “can’t always score four goals to get a victory” after beating 10-man Verona 4-3.

The Viola wasted numerous chances and have now conceded 14 goals in their last seven Serie A home games.

“I have to compliment our opponents, even if we should be more ruthless because we can’t always score four goals to get a victory,” Montella told Sky Sport Italia.

“We had so many opportunities to extend our advantage, but in defence we’ve got to maintain concentration.

“Borja Valero got a brace? If he starts scoring from outside the box as well, then it’s clear this is the complete player.”

Manuel Pasqual picked up an injury in training and David Pizarro pulled out during the warm-up, so the Coach warned “I don’t know if either of them will be fit to face Roma.

“Mario Gomez will start training with the squad over the next few days, then I’ll evaluate his progress. I don’t know when he can play again.”

Gabriel Batistuta was in the stands of the Stadio Franchi and enjoyed quite a show with seven goals.

“We were happy to see him in the stadium, as he gave us an extra boost.”
