In the earl kick off Spezia overcame nine-man Pescara to progress to the next round. Goals from Osarimen Ebagua, Marco Sansovini and Emanuel Rivas gave the Serie B side the win over their divisional rivals, after Dario Zuparic and Aniello Cutoloo had been sent off for the Delfini.

Avellino meanwhile beat Frosinone 2-1 in the late afternoon kick off – Angelo D’Angelo and Luigi Castaldo with the goals for the Lupi. They now play Juventus” data-scaytid=”21″>Juventus in the fifth round.

There was an upset though at Renato Dell’Ara. Bologna’s Davide Moscardelli cancelled out Francesco Valiani’s earlier effort in the 85th minute, but Siena ran out extra time winners, as Zou Feddal netted in the 120th minute for the Serie B side.

On the other hand, things were a little easier for Parma. Jaime Valdes put Roberto Donadoni’s men into an early lead against Varese, before Gianni Munari, Raffaele Palladino and Aleandro Rosi netted in the second half. Loris Damonte pulled one back for the Serie B outfit, but the game ended 4-1 to the Crociati.
