England boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that his side have a ‘tough group’ for next summer’s World Cup.
The Three Lions were drawn against Uruguay, Costa Rica and England for the tournament, and the Coach has conceded that Group D is a difficult one.
“It’s a tough group, there’s no doubt about that,” he told the BBC. “Italy were unlucky not to be seeded and we know how good they are.
“It might be a good thing that we know each other.
“You’re always hoping for a good group, but there aren’t many scenarios where you’re jumping for joy.
“You don’t win football matches on paper though. It’s 11 against 11, so if we’re well prepared then I believe we can win all the games.
“We have three top quality opponents.”
