Since replacing Delio Rossi, the Serbian tactician has earned two draws against Lazio and Inter plus a 4-1 Coppa Italia victory over Verona.
“Now I want the first Serie A win, even if I know it won’t be easy. Catania will come here with the bit between their teeth and a lot of quality,” said Mihajlovic.
“If we repeat our last three performances, then we should be in control and win the game. I tell my lads not to worry about the opposition, but to focus on themselves. We must be attacking and aggressive, as it’s the only way to get the result.
“If we step on to the pitch convinced of our capabilities, then the result will arrive. The crucial thing is to give our all on every occasion.
“We know that we’ll fight to the last round to secure safety, but we are also aware that we’re on the right track. What I like the most is that these players who haven’t had as much time on the field are doing everything to make my decisions difficult.”
Samp are without Gaetano Berardi, Paolo Castellini and Bartosz Salamon.
