Demetrio Albertini says the Galatasaray-Juventus tie should have been postponed, while he’s rejected links with Milan.
The Old Lady went out of the Champions League on Wednesday after their abandoned game from the night before was played on a pitch heavily affected by snowfall.
“I don’t think it should have been played,” the Italian Football Federation Vice-President commented. “The pitch was unplayable.
“There is a lot of talk about entertaining Champions League football, but you couldn’t produce a spectacle on that.”
Albertini was also questioned on suggestions he may return to former club Milan in the summer as part of the expected boardroom changes.
“I’ve read the stories, but I’ve not been contacted by anyone,” the former midfielder continued. “I’m just going down my own path.
“Today I can’t think about anything else apart from the World Cup. It is part of my job to help prepare for Brazil.”
