Vladimir Petkovic admits Miroslav Klose “makes everyone raise their game” and confirmed a Keita Balde row.
“We dominated the first half and deserved to lead by more than 2-0,” the Lazio Coach told Sky Sport Italia following the victory over Livorno.
“After the break we got afraid and our legs felt rather heavy, but I must compliment the lads for pushing through it. They worked hard, did not concede and scored goals, so it’s a definite improvement.”
It was the Biancocelesti’s first Serie A victory since October 27.
“The side was certainly determined and I never had doubts about that. They always gave their all, but needed that extra bit of ‘rage’ to finish off chances and we had that today.
“I take it one game at a time, always as if it’s my last day, but also with the effort of someone who could be here for 10 years.
“With the right spirit you can provoke certain incidents to go your way and earn your own luck. Klose brings something more to the side and that makes everyone raise their game, so with a champion like him everything becomes easier.”
Keita was in the stands today, reportedly due to a locker room row with Stefan Radu on Saturday.
“It was a technical decision. In my view the most important thing is the group, it doesn’t matter if you are young, old, experienced or green, you have to respect the group. He will be back from tomorrow and everyone has to prove themselves on the pitch.
“At the end of the day we can only get results by working together.”
