Inter President Erick Thohir said referee Paolo Tagliavento “killed the game” after a 4-2 defeat to Napoli.
The patron is in Milan at the moment ahead of next week’s derby and spoke to Sky Sport Italia.
“The red card killed the game,” declared Thohir of a controversial double Ricky Alvarez booking.
“Mistakes are part of the sport, but it was not a red card and that changed the match.
“In any case, compliments to Napoli.”
Coach Walter Mazzarri also blamed the referee for this setback, pointing out the only two Inter defeats this season were with Tagliavento officiating.
