Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has flatly denied that Celtic striker Giorgios Samaras is a January transfer target.
Reports in the British Press claimed on Thursday that the Greek goalscorer was being targeted by the capital club.
The Albanian board member was quoted as telling the Daily Record that “Samaras is a footballer I really like personally”. But Tare has this evening denied those comments.
“I have not talked to British newspapers,” he told lalaziosiamonoi. “Samaras? Currently he is not a goal of ours.
“At the moment, the market is not a priority for Lazio.
“First we have to reverse the trend we’re currently experiencing in the League. Only then can we think about possible reinforcements.”
