Uruguay centre-back Diego Godin thinks Italy have a serious chance of winning the World Cup next summer.
“It is clear that Italy will be our toughest opponent in Group D,” the Atletico Madrid man noted. “They are one of the candidates to win the World Cup.
“They demonstrated their strength at the Confederations Cup, at recent World Cups and in European qualifying.”
Group D is considered as one of the most competitive groups given that it also contains England and Costa Rica.
“We need to think only of the match against Costa Rica, because it is the first and if we get a good result then we will surely be stronger,” added Godin.
“I am sure that in Brazil, Uruguay will do things well, as they have in the previous World Cup.”
