The Italy international was put on the market this month after refusing to sign a contract extension, as his current deal expires at the end of the season.

Milan had been the hot favourites to capture D’Ambrosio in the January transfer window, followed by Roma.

However, according to Sport Mediaset, Inter suddenly leapt in with the winning bid of €2m and a three and a half year contract worth €1m per season.

D’Ambrosio is a 25-year-old Neapolitan, but spent his early years at Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”11″>Fiorentina before going on to spells at Crotone and Juve Stabia.

He can play as a right-back or on the right wing of a five-man midfield.
