Fiorentina monitor Papu Gomez

Fiorentina are reportedly mulling a possible move for former Catania man Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez, should Mario Gomez not return shortly.

Attention at the club is believed to be on the German’s continued recovery from knee ligament damage sustained in September that has kept him out of action since.

Having had his return to training delayed, La Viola are believed ready to base their actions in the transfer window on the former Bayern man’s condition.

Should Gomez return to the field inside the next two weeks, the club will not sign another forward during January, but if he does not, then in light of Giuseppe Rossi’s absence, they are believed ready to make a move.

The Gazzetta dello Sport report that a list of possible targets is being drawn up should the latter option be tested, with former Catania man Alejandro Gomez said to be top, amid reports he is unhappy in Ukraine with Metalist.
