Paolo Cannavaro will leave Napoli in January, as the former captain “does not want to be a burden.”
The defender has made only four Serie A appearances this season, two of them as a substitute, and is not part of Coach Rafa Benitez’s plans.
“Paolo is very disappointed by this situation, as he doesn’t have any chance of playing and it’s unthinkable to go on another four or five months like this,” agent Gaetano Fedele told RadioGoal.
“Paolo does not want to be a burden for a club he gave everything to.”
Lazio, Genoa and Inter are thought to be the main options for Cannavaro’s next move.
Napoli are his hometown club and the 32-year-old has been at the Stadio San Paolo since July 2006.
