Napoli look to have been dealt a blow with reports that Valon Behrami has indeed been ruled out for two months with injury.

Speculation in the European Press this week was that the midfielder had sustained a fractured toe in his left foot and was facing a period of eight weeks on the sidelines.

Whilst the club’s official radio station moved to deny this on Wednesday, reports today are that the player is facing such a period out in recovery.

Tests carried out in Augsburg, Germany, today have apparently revealed that whilst there is no fracture in the toe, there is damage to the ligament tissue surrounding the joint.

The specialist to have diagnosed this injury has apparently also pushed for surgical intervention, to clean up the joint and rebuild the tissue.

However, Napoli’s medical team are reportedly unconvinced that this is necessary and are looking to a two-month treatment and recovery programme without the need to go under the knife.
