Atalanta will be without goalkeeper Andrea Consigli against Catania on Sunday after he came down with chickenpox.
The shot-stopper turns 27 later this month and had missed training due to flu-like symptoms.
However, it was later revealed he had been diagnosed with chickenpox, a highly contagious illness that usually affects children.
Most adults are immune to it if they already contracted it as children, but Consigli never had that experience and was therefore vulnerable.
Atalanta are expected to have 21-year-old understudy Marco Sportiello in goal for the Sunday afternoon match.
It would be his Serie A debut, having played only four Coppa Italia games for the senior team.
