Atalanta-Catania is a relegation dogfight, but Stefano Colantuono maintains it is “not decisive.”
It kicks off at the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia at 14.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.
“It is an important game against Catania, but not decisive for our safety,” said the Coach.
“There are too many rounds left to play, as we are only at the midway point in the campaign. Therefore, if we don’t win, it certainly wouldn’t be a tragedy for us.
“However, we must also be wary of the opposite effect, as a victory shouldn’t make us feel as if we are comfortably mid-table.
“In our last two home games we’ve faced Roma and Juventus, so this will definitely be a different atmosphere, but Catania are an opponent to be respected. Last season they amassed 56 points.
“They had a bad start to the campaign, but they are getting back on track and the victory over Bologna was a very important boost for them.”
Cristian Raimondi is suspended, joining the injured Lionel Scaloni, Giampaolo Bellini, Carlos Carmona and Andrea Consigli.
The goalkeeper is a particularly big loss for Atalanta, as he has been diagnosed with chickenpox, so Marco Sportiello could be given his Serie A debut.
