Not only are Fiorentina close to signing Manchester United midfielder Anderson, but also Milan striker Alessandro Matri.
The Viola are active on the January transfer market following serious knee injuries for Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez.
Multiple media sources in Italy suggest a deal has been struck with Manchester United to take Anderson on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season worth €6.5m.
The Brazilian is expected in Florence over the next 48 hours for a medical.
"I don't know, we'll see tomorrow," was the comment from Anderson's agent Jorge Mendes on Sky Sport Italia.
According to Sport Mediaset, Fiorentina have also agreed terms with Milan for Italian centre-forward Matri.
It is a pure six-month loan until the end of the season, though there does not yet appear to be an option to make the move permanent.
Matri scored only one goal in 18 games in all competition for the Rossoneri since they paid €11m to sign him from Juventus in August.
