Hamsik: 'No Scudetto for Napoli'

Marek Hamsik made his Serie A comeback, but admits Napoli’s Scudetto ambitions are over. “We should look at second place.”

The Slovak midfielder had not played in the League since November, but even his presence couldn’t prevent a last-gasp 2-2 draw in Bologna.

“We should’ve avoided giving away free kicks and corners in the final minutes,” Hamsik told Sky Sport Italia.

This result has left Napoli 12 points adrift of leaders Juventus after 20 games and four behind Roma, while fourth-placed Fiorentina have closed the gap to just three points.

“Scudetto? Now the gap is pretty big and I think it’s too much. We should look at Roma and taking second place, which would allow us to go directly into the Champions League.”
