Livorno have officially signed defender Paolo Castellini from Sampdoria, the first reinforcement for new Coach Mimmo Di Carlo.
The Tuscan side released a statement this evening confirming the transfer had been completed on a permanent basis.
The 34-year-old defender managed only eight minutes of Serie A football for Sampdoria this season, plus two Coppa Italia appearances.
His previous clubs include Torino, Brescia, Real Betis, Roma and Parma.
Livorno sacked Davide Nicola last week and caretaker manager Attilio Perotti stepped aside for Di Carlo on Tuesday.
