According to the Daily Mail, Rossoneri scouts have been watching Schmeichel at Leicester City this season.
The 27-year-old is the son of Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel and has been at Leicester City since July 2011.
Milan had also been linked with a bid for Newcastle United goalkeeper Krul, but considered him to be too expensive.
