The Argentine-born striker, who moved to the Premier League outfit in the summer, has been confirmed through a club statement as suspended after an ‘incident’ at the club’s training facilities.

“Southampton Football Club has today suspended striker Dani Osvaldo for two weeks, following an incident at the club's Staplewood training ground,” Southampton have listed in a statement released on Thursday.

“The club has taken swift and proper action for what it considers a breach of the conduct expected of its players. Southampton will be making no further comment on this matter.”

Osvaldo has been linked during the January transfer window with a quick return to Serie A, with Inter suggested to be interested.
