Report: Allegri turns down Leeds offer

With Massimo Cellino on the brink of buying Leeds United, reports suggest that he has approached Max Allegri about taking over as Coach.

It was revealed earlier on Thursday that the Cagliari chief is just details away from securing a 75 per cent share in the Yorkshire club.

And respected Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Cellino has already been on the phone to the former Milan boss, asking him to replace current manager Brian McDermott.

The ex-Rossoneri man however, turned down the offer.

It now seems that Cellino will look to appoint a new manager with first-hand experience of English football.
