“Tomorrow we are facing a very strong side like Fiorentina,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“They play beautiful and efficient football that is very technical, and therefore difficult for opponents to break down.
“It will take another great achievement from us after beating Inter. They are missing some players, but that doesn’t reduce the quality of their squad.”
The Viola are without the injured Borja Valero, Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez, though Alessandro Matri should be fit again after scoring a brace on his debut against Catania.
Genoa also make changes to their side, introducing new signings Burdisso from Roma and Motta from Juventus. Defender Mario Sampirisi has been loaned out to Olhanense.
“We have five defenders available now and I can think about new tactical solutions,” continued Gasperini.
“We are in a strong position in the table and I have to say we are very satisfied with what we’ve achieved so far. Now we have a new objective: to measure ourselves up against the best teams and see how we fare.”
Genoa squad for Fiorentina: Bizzarri, Donnarumma, Perin; Antonelli, Antonini, Burdisso, De Ceglie, De Maio, Marchese, Motta, Portanova, Vrsaljko; Bertolacci, Cabral, Cofie, Matuzalem, Sturaro; Calaiò, Centurion, Fetfatzidis, Gilardino, Konate, Stoian
