Nocerina have been kicked out of Lega Pro B after players faked injury during the game with Salernitana in November.

The FIGC confirmed this afternoon that the Neapolitan team had been expelled and had also handed out bans to a number of players and officials, as well as fining the club €10,000.

The Nocerina players had been reluctant to play the derby match after they were handed death threats from their own ultras.

They eventually made three substitutions and brought five players off with ‘injuries’ during the game, that was eventually called off after only 21 minutes. The match had kicked off 40 minutes late anyway, with players initially reluctant to take to the field.

An FIGC statement read: “Nocerina have been excluded from the Lega Pro championship for sporting fraud and will be assigned by the Federal Council to one of the leagues' lower categories.

"The club has also been fined 10,000 euros. The decision comes into effect immediately and has been announced to the Lega Pro and its stakeholders."
