After weeks of controversy, Genoa-Sampdoria looks as if it will be moved to the evening of Monday February 3.
The Derby della Lanterna had been planned for Sunday February 2 kicking off at 11.30 GMT (12.30 local time).
Local authorities and fans were irritated at the decision, as the Marassi area – where the Stadio Luigi Ferraris is located – also hosts a large weekly market at the same time.
Initial appeals to move the game were rejected, but it is reported now that Genoa-Sampdoria will be shifted to Monday at 19.45 GMT (20.45 local time).
Fans of both clubs had threatened not to attend the match in protest at the situation.
