Lazio are closer than ever to Nantes striker Filip Djordjevic after a transfer deadline day move to Cardiff collapsed.
The 26-year-old Serbian international is out of contract with Nantes in June and many expect him to join Lazio as a free agent.
There was the real risk they would miss out on Djordjevic when reports emerged of a last-gasp bid from Cardiff City to sign him.
However, the deadline passed with no transfer, so the player is expected to put pen to paper on a contract with the Biancocelesti.
He has also been linked with Inter, but Lazio are by far the favourites for the man who has been with Nantes since 2008.
