Roma-Parma has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch, so will have to be played on another day.

There had been fears the match would not go ahead at all, as there have been floods in the city all weekend due to heavy rain.

The rain is continuing to fall over the Stadio Olimpico and, after 11 minutes and two tests of whether the ball would bounce, referee De Marco called the teams off.

The officials had another pitch inspection and decided the game simply could not continue in these conditions.

Both Roma and Parma were eager not to continue in these conditions, as it was impossible to play football and also dangerous for the players.

"I won't gamble with the Scudetto on a waterlogged pitch," noted Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis.
