Baldissoni: 'Roma-Parma had to stop'

Roma director Mauro Baldissoni admits there are problems finding a new date for the game with Parma, which was rained off today.

The Serie A Week 22 encounter was abandoned after just 13 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch at the Stadio Olimpico.

“It was evident we could not play, as it was obvious the pitch was not suitable for a game of football,” director general Baldissoni told Roma Channel.

“We don’t know when this game can be replayed. We have to take into account the fixture lists of both Roma and Lazio. Plus the stadium needs to be used for Italy’s home matches in the Six Nations rugby tournament.

“This game probably won’t be played imminently.”

Under Italian rules, the game will resume from where it left off, on 0-0 after 13 minutes, rather than be replayed entirely.
