Stefano Pioli could be in line for a quick return to the Bologna bench, should Davide Ballardini not turn things around shortly.
The Felsinei replaced Pioli with Ballardini after Week 18’s 2-0 defeat at Catania had left the side just a point above the relegation zone and with only the one win to their name since October.
However, defeat at the weekend at home to Udinese has seemingly placed Ballardini’s position under early scrutiny, with reports that club President Albano Guaraldi was less than impressed.
Early speculation lead today by the Corriere dello Sport is that should the 50-year-old tactician not turn around the team’s continued poor form in the next three games, he will be replaced by Pioli.
Bologna drew their first three matches under Ballardini, before the home reverse to Udinese on Saturday evening.
